Martyn LeNoble, a former bassist in Perry Farrell’s bands Jane’s Addiction and Porno for Pyros, recently opened up on Farrell, who recently grabbed headlines for punching Dave Navarro.

Martyn LeNoble opens up on Perry Farrell

He said:

“I can say, unequivocally, that Perry has been the worst frontman I’ve ever worked with. Always a kind word, followed by shitty actions. The fish rots from the head down. I still don’t understand how he channeled some of those great lyrics & vocals on the first two Jane’s records.

And I’ve worked with some “difficult” singers. All kinder, better, and more talented. I judge people by their actions… not by their banter about “spiritually”. @marklanegan @TheScottWeiland, Layne, @theimposter, etc.

Perry doesn’t show up for rehearsals, sound checks, writing, etc. He jumps in late with shitty lyrics. Some I had to tell him were terrible. Unprepared, wild eyed, not present, high. Motherf***er does it over and over again.

And Etty is a horrible person. “I will sue you…. We have money to burn” Let’s see where that goes.

The worst with the biggest ego.”

Fans were shocked when a scuffle took place between Farrell and guitarist Dave Navarro. The incident saw Farrell appearing to purposely tackle Navarro on stage, leading to a heated confrontation that left both the audience and band members shocked.

Footage captured by fans shows that Farrell, in the middle of his meltdown, attempted to use his microphone as a weapon against his bandmates.

The tension between Farrell and Navarro reportedly rose after Farrell got in Navarro’s face and began hurling insults at him. A confused Navarro could be seen asking what was going on, but before anyone could intervene, Farrell lunged at him. The situation escalated as Farrell started throwing punches, though it’s unclear if any landed on Navarro.

Perry Farrell has also apologized to Dave Navarro after their battle onstage. Farrell told his Jane’s Addiction bandmates he is sorry in a new Instagram post, writing:

“This weekend has been incredibly difficult and after having the time and space to reflect, it is only right that I apologize to my bandmates, especially Dave Navarro, fans, family, and friends for my actions during Friday’s show. Unfortunately, my breaking point resulted in unexcusable behavior, and I take full responsibility for how I chose to handle the situation.”
