During a recent interview with Mojo magazine, Pink Floyd frontman David Gilmour revealed the list of songs he no longer plans to perform live ever again.
David Gilmour shares the list
The Pink Floyd frontman is getting ready to go on tour to promote his new solo album ‘Luck and Strange.’ Pink Floyd songs will be included but the legend has made it clear that he doesn’t plan on doing some popular songs.
“There are songs from the past that I no longer feel comfortable singing. I love ‘Run Like Hell’ [from The Wall]. I loved the music I created for it, but all that (sings) ‘You’d better run, run, run…’ I now find that all rather, I don’t know… a bit terrifying and violent,” the frontman explained.
It doesn’t look like he plans to perform some of his hit songs. “‘Another Brick In The Wall’ is another one I shan’t be doing,” Gilmour added. “I don’t think I’ve done that with my own band, but I certainly did it in the post-Roger Pink Floyd, against my better judgement. The same with ‘Money.’ I won’t be doing that.”
However, there are some hits that he will stick to. “I’m going to be sticking with the ones that are essentially my music, and I feel some ownership of. ‘Comfortably Numb,’ ‘Wish You Were Here,’ ‘Shine On You Crazy Diamond,’ maybe…”
Gilmour released ‘Luck and Strange’ on September 5th, and it is his first album in almost a decade.
The tour kicks off on September 27th at Circo Massimo in Rome. He will then head back to the UK for six shows at the Royal Albert Hall in London throughout October. He is also set for four dates in Los Angeles, including three shows at the Hollywood Bowl. The tour wraps up with five performances at Madison Square Garden in New York.
