Billie Ellish was interviewed by Ellen on Monday, and Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl was in the audience. Ellen mentioned how big names like Grohl, who was shown on camera, and others like Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke and The Beatles legend Paul McCartney are fans of hers. Ellish then mentioned how old Dave was, as her parents are the ones that are fans of his.

“It’s unreal, it’s crazy. I feel like recently I’ve met a lot of people that my parents grew up as fans of. That’s no disrespect to your age, Dave.”

Grohl was shown laughing in the audience. She also discussed having Tourette’s Syndrome and how her fans have helped her to deal and deal with it.

“I think I’ve also learned that a lot of my fans have it, which made me feel kind of more at home with saying it,” she explained.

17-year old singer Billie Ellish was shocked by Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl recently boldly stating that she is one of the reasons he has hope for rock and roll still being alive and having a bright future.

Eilish told Radio X that she was still gobsmacked by the comparison to Nirvana’s explosion, saying: “Can you even believe that? I can’t even believe that.”

“Are you kidding? He said rock isn’t dead because of me. Dude, I grew up on that shit. Like, huh? Rock, I can’t. Also Dave is such a sweetheart, and his daughters, I love them. His daughters, of course they’re good, because he’s their fucking Dad.”

“I was like 2 years old when [Nirvana] was a thing. Having an older brother, he always was into stuff, then I was into the same thing right after.”

It was reported that Grohl said at Pollstar Live last month, “My daughters are obsessed with Billy Eilish. And what I’m seeing happening with my daughters is the same revolution that happened to me at their age.

“They’re becoming themselves through her music. She totally connects to them. So we went to go see her play… and the connection that she has with her audience is the same thing that was happening with Nirvana in 1991.”

“I would call that rock n roll. When I look at someone like Billie Eilish, I’m like…shit man….rock n roll is not even close to being dead…”

Grohl later clarified his reported statement on Twitter.
