Trump Slams Bruce Springsteen After Tour Speech
President Donald Trump fired back at Bruce Springsteen on Thursday after the New Jersey rock icon used the opening night of his new U.S. tour to criticise Trump’s administration and immigration enforcement. The exchange escalates a long-running public feud between the former president and the singer, and arrives as Springsteen launches his 20-date Land of Hope and Dreams American Tour.
In a series of early-morning Truth Social posts, Trump attacked Springsteen’s appearance and performance, and urged supporters to boycott the tour, Forbes reported.
The dispute followed Springsteen’s first show of the run in Minneapolis on Tuesday, where he opened with an anti-war line and warned the crowd “we live in dangerous times.” He then described Trump’s administration with a series of harsh characterisations, including calling it “corrupt” and “treasonous,” before turning to the subject of immigration enforcement.
The onstage comments continued a pattern of Springsteen taking political stances in public, and it also comes as fans have been furious over reported $3,000 ticket prices linked to dynamic pricing and premium listings on some dates.
Trump, meanwhile, framed his response as both a personal attack and a call to action, telling followers to skip what he described as overpriced shows. With Springsteen’s tour now underway and the rhetoric intensifying, any further exchanges are likely to play out in real time as additional dates and crowds provide new flashpoints.
