Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello commented for the first time on the band’s nomination for the 2018 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame class. He posted a tweet linking to fan voting, “Congrats to my #RATM brothers on RnR Hall of Fame nomination. Go to http://rockhall.com/VOTE if ur inclined to #testify on the fan ballot.”

Morello also recently revealed which Prophets of Rage members called Zack de la Rocha for his blessing to perform RATM songs in a new Strombo Show interview.

“In order to make it fresh, it couldn’t just be going on YouTube and finding someone to replace Zack. Also, it was important to get Zack’s blessing for the project too. Chuck, B-Real, and Timmy were all calling him.”

He also discussed fans with differing political views being fans of Rage Against The Machine and Prophets of Rage.

“There’s a unity in music that transcends politics. There’s no political litmus test to be in the pit for Prophets of Rage. With any of the bands I’ve been in, there are plenty of fans who disagree or don’t care about the lyrical [content].”

The interviewer mentioned Speaker of the House Paul Ryan.

Morello responded, “Exactly. He’s welcome in the pit. He may have heard it, but he probably didn’t listen to it.”
