Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante was shocked onstage before “Tell Me Baby” in Seattle, a fan on Reddit reports.

FrugalSardine posted, “People who have seen a recent show other than Seattle – how did John seem to you? Don’t get me wrong, his playing was excellent and his vocals were strong, but I never saw him crack a smile once and he didn’t seem to want to make that connection with the crowd with eye contact, etc. It seemed to me that he might be doing his best to perform while ill. Nothing I can do about it, but feeling concerned for his well-being.

The concert was fantastic!!”

Santacruzducks said, “When John first walked out for the intro he had a big grin on his face as he came up to the mic stand and he kinda laughed and mouthed ‘fuck’ when he came in early on the backing vocals in tell me baby. Plus he was laughing with the other band members particularly Anthony on a couple of occasions. He did get shocked but he was laughing about it when he told Anthony.

I didn’t really see anything that made me think this guy is unwell or not enjoying himself and he played fuckin great, he really ripped it up. He was dealing with a few technical things of course but they didnt seem to majorly effect his performance.”
