Red Hot Chili Peppers’ reclusive former guitarist John Frusciante was spotted by a fan yesterday in Los Angeles ironically on the eve of the Chili Peppers’ performance in Los Angeles at Staples Center. Frusciante was jogging on a trail, and agreed to take a photograph when asked by a fan. The fan was then driven to tears by the experience of meeting Frusciante. Frusciante also asked for directions to a part of the trail. See the photo from Reddit below!

Former Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante has rarely been photographed in recent years, but this past weekend a photo was released of the rock legend spending his 47th birthday with actor/director Vincent Gallo.

Gallo had minor roles in mainstream films such as Goodfellas, Arizona Dream, The Funeral and Palookaville, he is most associated with independent movies, including Buffalo ’66, which he wrote, directed, scored and starred in and The Brown Bunny, which he also wrote, directed, produced, starred in and photographed. In the early 2000s, he released several solo recordings on Warp Records. Gallo is known for his controversial behavior in the past on film sets, with Christina Ricci calling him “a crazy lunatic man.”

Linda Ramone is also in the photograph. Ramone is the widow of Ramones legend Johnny Ramone. Happy birthday John!
