Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea has responded to a young fan drawing a picture of the band’s new 2020 reunited lineup with John Frusciante. Red Hot Chili Peppers recently canceled a John Frusciante reunion show.

Rob Fleming tweeted, “My 6 year old son, Ben, is getting really into music, and drew this today after watching a few videos. The labels are: There drummer, Jhon Friscanty, Red Hot Chily Peppers singer, Flea. Yours was the only name he spelled right. Thought you might like it.”

Flea responded, “He really nailed it. It looks how I feel when we play. Thank you Ben.”

District6gaming posted on Reddit about Frusciante’s guitar playing style, “John has a very unique muting style, when he plays he hits almost every string when he’s playing riffs and chords, the best example of this is on Can’t Stop. For solo-ing, he plays a lot of Hendrix’ Esque forms and uses triads more than anything. There’s an interview on youtube with him where he talks about his style a bit.”

Sailorssaybrandy responded, “I’m a pretty decent guitar player. I’ve been playing for almost 15 years now and Can’t Stop is still difficult for me to play.” Doubledonk07 shot back, “I’ve watched videos explaining how to do his mute technique for cant stop but I still cant get it! Been trying to play this song for like 3 years now.”

Sailorssaybrandy said, “John often uses a style of playing or technique that is sometimes referred to as the ‘thumb over neck’ technique or ‘baseball bat grip’ technique. This was used by Jimi Hendrix a lot.

It basically means that he wraps his thumb over the side of the guitar neck to hit the root notes of chords on the low E string instead of barring his index finger across the fret board to hit the root note as in traditional barre chords.” John Frusciante and Flea’s new song was just revealed.
