One of Rob Reiner’s last political acts was to contribute a whopping $10,000 to the party’s celeb-fave leading California gov hopeful.
Rob Reiner contributed massive amount
The famous director splurged out the contribution to Rep. Eric Swalwell on December 8th, six days before he and his wife were butchered in their Los Angeles mansion, allegedly at the hands of their drug-addicted son Nick.
Campaign records depicted that Reiner also contributed about two and a half weeks after the congressman announced his candidacy on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”
Las year, Swalwell missed more votes than any current member of the House of Representatives as he sought out the support of elite donors.
Other A-listers who have given to his gubernatorial campaign include actors Sean Penn and Robert De Niro.
While the “Stand by Me’’ and “When Harry Met Sally” director’s political critiques may have made his work polarizing for movie audiences, Reiner refused to back down.
“Listen, I can’t tell you how many times I get ‘libtard’ on my Twitter feed,” he said in a 2019 interview. “I mean, I’m the ‘libtard’ of the world.
“I get all that, and I understand that I’m toxic in those ways for those people. But if anybody wants to spend any time actually talking about how policy can be affected, how it can be put together, I can sit and talk with them,’’ Reiner said.
