Rob Reiner and and Michele’s kids Jake and Romy are planning a memorial service to honor their parents following their k*llings.
“Jake and Romy Reiner remain grateful for the outpouring of love and support they have received,” a statement from the siblings’ spokesperson provided to PEOPLE on Monday read.
“They will share information about a memorial service honoring their parents at a later date.”
Rob and Michele were found dead in their L.A. home last week after suffering knife wounds. Their son, Nick Reiner, has been arrested and charged with murder. NY Post reported that it was Romy who made the horrific discovery of the slain director and allegedly told officers that her brother Nick should be a person of interest.
Later that evening, Nick was arrested for the m*rder of his parents. Nick was charged with two counts of first-degree murder with a special circumstance of multiple murders on Tuesday, December 16th.
He made his first court appearance on Wednesday, December 17th. He was shackled at both hands and feet and wore an anti-suicide smock.
TMZ reported, “Nick was diagnosed with schizophrenia prior to his parents’ deaths — though we’re told doctors hadn’t yet found the correct, stablizing dosage.”
Nick Reiner was charged with first-degree murder in the k*llings of Rob, and Michele Reiner. The charges include a special circumstances allegation of multiple murders and an additional allegation that Reiner used a knife in the killings, which took place sometime early Sunday morning.
