Rock on the Range Evacuated Due To Thunderstorm Day Soundgarden Was Set To Headline

Alternative Nation reporter Lauryn Schaffner is in Columbus, Ohio covering the Rock on the Range festival, but performances are having to be postponed until later tonight.

Rock on the Range said, “Day 1 of Rock on the Range has been put on hold as severe weather reports circulate. An on-site meteorologist has been providing festival-goers with updates regarding the reopening of the stadium.” The weather threat is expected to pass by 7 or 7:30PM.

Below are photos of the storm, along with a photo Lauryn provided of Rock on the Range promotional material at the venue that still features Soundgarden. A Chris Cornell tribute is scheduled for after Live’s set tonight.

“Black hole sun, won’t you come wash away the rain…”'s pouring. #Delayed #Rockontherange
