Roger Waters has apologized for his offensive remarks defending the Iranian regime.

Michael Sweet Slams Roger Waters Over Ozzy Osbourne Remarks

Michael Sweet has publicly called out Roger Waters following the backlash over Waters’ controversial comments about the late Ozzy Osbourne.

Sweet took to Facebook to express his outrage, criticizing Waters for what he described as a lack of empathy, compassion, and integrity.

“Some people are brutally honest yet deliver the message with compassion and integrity,” Sweet wrote. “Others (like this guy), do so without empathy for others and then try to justify it. As if it’s right and perfectly fine. It’s not.”

He continued by directly addressing Waters’ remarks about Ozzy, writing, “Hearing Roger Waters’ cold words about Ozzy made me think that some people don’t deserve what they have. They abuse their responsibility and then think that everyone else is irresponsible. Cold, hard and brutal. Maybe Roger will find Jesus. God bless The Osbourne Family 🙏”

What Roger Waters Said About Ozzy

Waters has faced heavy criticism since comments he made earlier in 2025 during an interview, which resurfaced after Ozzy’s death in July 2025—just weeks after the metal icon’s final performance at Back to the Beginning.

“Ozzy Osbourne, who just died, bless him in his… whatever that state that he was in his whole life,” Waters said. “We’ll never know. Although he was all over the TV for hundreds of years with his idiocy and nonsense. … The music, I have no idea. I couldn’t give a f***.”

Those remarks immediately ignited outrage among fans and the Osbourne family.

The Osbourne Family Fires Back

Ozzy’s wife Sharon Osbourne and their children Jack Osbourne and Kelly Osbourne addressed Waters directly on The Osbournes Podcast.

“That leads me on to somebody who is not special, that is probably one of the most twisted, sick individuals I’ve come across in years,” Sharon said.

Jack followed up bluntly, while Kelly added, “He’s a f*ing ct.”

Sharon didn’t hold back either, saying, “He has no charisma… He’s like a sad, irrelevant, old, miserable human being.”

Jack also revealed that his own social media post attacking Waters generated more attention than Waters had received in years, adding that Ozzy himself always loved Pink Floyd—but “f***ing hated Roger Waters.”

Fallout Continues

With Michael Sweet now joining the growing list of artists condemning Waters, the backlash shows no sign of slowing down. What began as controversial remarks has turned into a full-scale reckoning, as musicians and fans alike continue to defend Ozzy Osbourne’s legacy and question Roger Waters’ place in today’s music world.
