Roger Waters recently took to his X account and posted a video clip.

In the clip, he said, ”If I was a praying man, I’d pray for Nicolas Maduro.” Roger Waters further said that ‘99% of people in the world deplore’ US actions against Venezuela

He added, ”Stunned by this savage act by the EMPIRE of the United States.”

Waters had recently criticized a benefit concert inspired by the legendary Live Aid to raise funds for humanitarian aid to Venezuela. The event is supported by billionaire and Virgin Group founder Richard Branson and will take place this Friday in the Colombian city of Cúcuta.

Latin singers Alejandro Sanz , Nacho , Luis Fonsi , and Maluma will be part of a concert aimed at raising US$100 million to send food and medicine to Venezuelans suffering from shortages. For more information about the event, visit the official website .

Since the announcement of the show last week, several comparisons to Live Aid have emerged. The event, which took place in 1985, was organized by Bob Geldof to raise money to fight famine in Ethiopia.

“It has nothing to do with humanitarian aid,” said the Pink Floyd. “It has to do with Richard Branson believing the United States is saying, ‘we’ve decided to take over Venezuela, whatever our motives may be.’”

The event is an effort by the Venezuelan opposition and it blames the ruling socialists for the country’s economic problems that have led to the exodus of millions of people. According to Waters, the show is a way for the United States to justify a change of power in Venezuela.

“Richard is helping to raise awareness about the crisis in Venezuela and to raise much-needed funds through this event,” a Virgin spokesperson said in a statement. “This is not a political statement, and the U.S. is not involved in any way.”

Waters has always expressed his political views, causing great controversy at his shows in Brazil during the presidential elections, and lately he has spoken out against the situation in Venezuela.
