Actress Rose McGowan recently released her new book Brave. GoldWiredStein has posted a summary of the chapter about Marilyn Manson on Reddit, which also mentions Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan.
She wrote a chapter about him in her memoir. It was very flattering and revealed some interesting insight into their relationship. They seemed like a sweet couple.
She had nothing bad to say until the very end, where she basically did a 180 and called him a “cisgendered” crybaby haha

-Before meeting Manson, she thought he was “the ugliest person I’ve ever seen.” ? After meeting at a film premier in LA, she decided he was “incredibly unique looking”
-She said “Manson patched me back together after the assault.” Also: “Manson was so sweet with me,” and “always saw to my needs and paid great attention to detail”
-Talks about him being bad for her image ?
-She describes them hiding out at their home and being “totally domestic,” and says “Manson was painting watercolors of my Boston terriers while I was ordering glassware from Martha Stewart’s online store”
-She stopped working for 3 years and went on tour with him (“the Manson circus”) She says “it was a blast, we were madly in love” and “it was a pretty legendary relationship”
-She mentions how Billy Corgan (“his whiny friend Billy” haha) warned Manson about how “going out with an actress makes you look like a pussy”
-Talks about how Coma White was written about her (she lived in Miracle Mile in LA, was on meds for depression, etc.)
In a 2015 interview with Esquire, Marilyn Manson discussed a letter Billy Corgan sent him.
Before the Manson and McGowan split, Manson received a letter from Corgan warning the Antichrist Superstar of getting too close to McGowan. “It was funny, because I ran into Billy [Corgan], and a lot of people think there was some kind of falling out,” Manson recalls.
“It was mostly that he wrote a strongly worded letter about how Rose McGowan would ruin my life and ruin my career if I stayed with her, which was good advice, and he wrote it as a letter, which is very polite. There is sort of a guy code that I abide by where he totally offered his advice, and he was genuinely just looking out for my best interests. I hadn’t seen him in 15 years. I had forgotten how close we were, having not seen him in so long. He’s the one who taught me how to play guitar, so if it sucks or it’s good, it’s his fault.”
