Rush recently announced that they have postponed two more upcoming shows. Vocalist and bassist Geddy Lee’s health issues are cited as the reason.
The band postponed their June 30 and July 2 shows at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, after Geddy Lee was diagnosed with laryngitis and bronchitis.
“To our fans, we are deeply sorry to share that we must postpone our June 30 and July 2 shows,” the band said. “Geddy has been diagnosed with laryngitis and bronchitis. After being evaluated by his doctors, he has been advised that he needs additional time to rest and recover before returning to the stage.”
The statement went on to acknowledge the impact on fans who had made travel plans for the shows.
“This is incredibly disappointing for all of us,” the band continued.
“We know many of you have made travel plans and have been counting down the days to these shows. Please know this decision was not made lightly. After more than 50 years of touring, we’ve always believed that if we’re going to step on stage, we owe you the very best performance we can give—and right now, that simply isn’t possible.”
“We’re grateful to everyone involved for helping us quickly find new dates to celebrate together,” the band added.
The announcement came just a few days after Rush had already pushed back their first Texas show due to travel complications. New dates for the Fort Worth shows have since been confirmed.
The two postponed Fort Worth shows have been rescheduled for July 11 and July 13, 2026, both at Dickies Arena, giving ticketholders a clear path forward as Lee continues his recovery.
The Fort Worth dates are part of Rush’s ongoing Fifty-Something Tour, which saw the band come to the Dallas–Fort Worth area for a run of shows beginning June 26, 2026. The tour included a stop in Mexico City on June 20 before the Texas leg got underway.
The postponements mark a rare disruption for the band. As the first Texas date was pushed back due to travel complications, Rush acknowledged just how unusual the situation was, noting that the number of shows they have had to cancel or postpone over their career can be counted on one hand.
