Sammy Hagar announces return of Las Vegas residency in 2026

Rock and Roll Hall of Famer from Van Halen Sammy Hagar has confirmed that his hit The Best of All Worlds Las Vegas residency will return in 2026. During a December 6, 2025 appearance on CNN’s The Story Is With Elex Michaelson, Hagar revealed that the show will run for 11 performances at Dolby Live at Park MGM from March 11–21, 2026, and again from September 18–26, 2026.

The residency will reunite Hagar with the acclaimed Best of All Worlds band, which includes original Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony, legendary guitarist Joe Satriani, powerhouse drummer Kenny Aronoff, and multi-instrumentalist Rai Thistlethwayte. The lineup has been praised for capturing the spirit of Hagar’s long and varied career.

Why the residency works for Hagar at this stage

Now 78 years old, Hagar explained that the residency format allows him to keep performing without the physical toll of constant touring. He said the hardest part of touring is not the shows themselves, but the nonstop travel, packing, and lack of rest.

A Las Vegas residency, he noted, offers better sleep, top accommodations, great food, and more time to rehearse, making it easier to stay on stage longer. Hagar added that the residency is extending his touring life, admitting that a full-scale global tour would be far more difficult at this point in his career.

“It’s a dream come true for an elderly rock star that still wants to perform, because the hardest part of doing a tour and playing shows is not the show itself. It’s the packing up and moving into hotels, travel, travel, travel, running around. You get to the show late. Some days you don’t even have time to have a good meal. But with the residency, you get a good night’s sleep. They give you the best rooms on the planet. Great food — Vegas has got the best restaurants in the world; they’re all in Las Vegas now. And it’s just so much easier. You get to rehearse. I don’t know — to me, it’s a dream come true. It’s extending my touring life. Otherwise, I don’t know if I’d go on tour again and do a major tour. I mean, I could go out and do a few shows here and there. But anyway, Vegas, yes. Residency. Thank you.”

Giving back through food banks and philanthropy

Hagar also talked about his long-standing commitment to supporting local food banks. During past tours, he donated thousands of dollars in each city he visited. His passion for the cause comes from his childhood, when his single mother relied on food banks to help feed her four children during difficult times.

Through The Hagar Family Foundation, which he started with his wife after selling most of his Cabo Wabo Tequila business in 2007, Hagar continues to support food banks and children’s hospitals. Profits from his restaurants and beverage brands help fund these efforts, allowing donations to reach people quickly and directly.

“Food banks really played a big role in my mom being able to survive and feed four kids, and especially on a holiday. With the holidays coming up, that’s why we’re talking about this. The food banks are so important. And you give a dollar and it feeds a couple of families. It’s really bang for the buck. So it’s my favorite way of giving back, because I remember waiting in line with my mom, all four of us kids. And it mattered.”

New live album and full residency dates

In October 2025, Hagar released Sammy Hagar & The Best of All Worlds Band – The Residency, a 19-track live album recorded during his first Dolby Live run and released via Big Machine Rock.

The 2026 residency dates at Dolby Live at Park MGM are:

With over four decades in rock music, more than 50 million albums sold, and a career spanning Montrose, Van Halen, Chickenfoot, The Circle, and now The Best of All Worlds, Hagar continues to prove that his passion for music and giving back remains as strong as ever
