Black Sabbath is reuniting and Sammy Hagar is involved. But this isn’t just any reunion… It’s a once-in-a-lifetime event, packed with heavy metal royalty, legendary guest appearances, and a mind-blowing lineup of rock and metal’s biggest names.
The festival lineup is absolutely stacked and Sammy Hagar is a part of it. That’s right, the Van Halen icon is stepping onto the Sabbath stage as part of an all-star supergroup, making this event even more legendary.
Back to the Beginning will feature sets from Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, Gojira, Halestorm, Alice In Chains, Lamb Of God, Anthrax and Mastodon.
The all-day event will also feature a supergroup of musicians. Artists announced so far include Billy Corgan, David Draiman, Duff McKagan, Slash, Frank Bello, Fred Durst, Jake E Lee, Jonathan Davis, KK Downing, Lzzy Hale, Mike Bordin, Rudy Sarzo, Sammy Hagar, Scott Ian, Sleep Token ii, Papa V Perpetua, Tom Morello, Wolfgang Van Halen and Zakk Wylde.
Sharon Osbourne and Tony Iommi shocked the rock world by announcing that the original Black Sabbath lineup—Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward—will take the stage for the first time in two decades.
This monumental reunion will happen at “Back to the Beginning,” a festival set for Saturday, July 5, at Villa Park in Birmingham, England—the birthplace of heavy metal.
Ozzy Osbourne said: “It’s my time to go Back to the Beginning….time for me to give back to the place where I was born. How blessed am I to do it with the help of people whom I love. Birmingham is the true home of metal. Birmingham Forever.”
