Sammy Hagar recently talked about a throwback photo from a Grammy party. In an Instagram post, he addressed his observations regarding Metallica singer James Hetfield’s appearance.
Sammy Hagar raises question on James Hetfield’s height
The rock legend shared a vintage photo taken before the pandemic, featuring him with James Hetfield, Ozzy Osbourne, and Kirk Hammett. In his caption, Hagar humorously questioned Hetfield’s height in the picture.
“Flashback to Grammy party pre-Covid with James Hetfield, Ozzy Osbourne, and Kirk Hammett, trouble in the making,” Hagar wrote. “Why the f*ck is James looking so big in this picture? He must’ve had on high heels.”
This seems to be friendly jab at Hetfield. Hagar playfully suggested that the Metallica frontman may have worn high heels to appear taller in the photo.
Sammy Hagar stands approximately 6 feet tall (183 cm), while James Hetfield is notably taller at around 6 feet 4 inches (193 cm), making Hetfield roughly 4 inches (10 cm) taller than Hagar. This natural height advantage clearly explains why Hetfield appears significantly larger in the throwback photograph.
Hagar also recently made headlines for an unusual incident involving an impersonator and even shared his thoughts on X.
Recent reports suggested that a local man was arrested after allegedly impersonating the rock icon at multiple businesses in the area. The incident led Hagar to respond with humor and skepticism about the authenticity of such claims in the modern age.
“Well, I just woke up and I feel as beat up as I can be these days at my age. Look at this guy over here,” Hagar said, referencing a photo of the impersonator.
“This guy he says he’s Sammy Hagar. I guess it is the ‘season.’ Happy Halloween everyone.”
Hagar found the situation amusing and noted the widespread use of AI and digital manipulation in today’s world.
“Who knows with AI these days if this is real or not, but every person I know has sent it to me, and anyone that would fall for this guy saying he’s the Red Rocker probably couldn’t name one of my songs,” he said.
