Let’s talk about Sammy Hagar trying to hire Wolfgang Van Halen. Yep, you heard that right. The Red Rocker himself throwing an open invite to the heir to the EVH throne.

And if you’re wondering whether Wolf even wants to be part of that circus again… well, keep watching.

So this all went down in a recent interview on 101 WRIF, where Hagar was, let’s say, feeling nostalgic—or maybe just strategic.

The former Van Halen frontman expressed his desire to collaborate with Eddie Van Halen’s son on a special performance featuring classic Van Halen material.

Hagar said, “Hey Wolf, let’s do a residency someday – just one show of Van Halen songs. That would be awesome!”

The proposal suggests a Las Vegas-style residency show that would celebrate the Van Halen legacy. Both former and current members of the Van Halen family would participate.

Sammy Hagar, who recently completed “The Best of All Worlds Tour – The Residency” at Dolby Live at Park MGM in Las Vegas, Nevada, told Baltimore’s 98 Rock radio station that there are tentative plans for him to return in 2026.

“We’re talking about making the deal for next year. If I can do those residencies — I gotta tell both of you. I’m making a true confession. I don’t like touring. I love playing music, but I can’t stand packing my suitcase and moving and moving and moving. And bad hotel rooms, bad food, and not being able to do the show as good as I wanna do it every night. And boy, the residency, man, you can’t beat it for doing great shows and being able to… We changed the set every single night — nine shows and we didn’t do the same show twice. A lot of the songs got played more than once, but we changed at least four or five songs every single night. Oh, it was fantastic. Fantastic.”
