Former Scott Weiland and the Wildabouts bassist Tommy Black paid tribute to his late friend and bandmate to mark the 3-year anniversary of his death today on Twitter. The legendary Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver frontman died on December 3, 2015 from a drug overdose on his tour bus in Bloomington, Minnesota.

Black marked the occasion by sharing a never before seen heartbreaking photo of Weiland hugging him on his wedding day in 2013. Weiland married his third wife Jamie in June 2013 in Los Angeles.

“Just three years ago and it seems like decades. What a sad day. Miss and think of you every day my friend. So many good adventures and so many good songs. Your memory is strong and you are always in all of our hearts.”

Black currently is the manager of The Viper Room in Hollywood, and recorded Blaster in 2015 with Scott Weiland and the Wildabouts. Black and drummer Danny Thompson are the only surviving members of the Wildabouts lineup that recorded Blaster, as guitarist Jeremy Brown died from a drug overdose in March 2015 a day before the album was released. Brown’s replacement Nick Maybury is currently playing with Jane’s Addiction frontman Perry Farrell’s Kind Heaven Orchestra band, while drummer Joey Castillo has drummed with Zakk Wylde’s band Zakk Sabbath.
