Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler, Billy Idol guitarist Steve Stevens, Guns N’ Roses and Velvet Revolver drummer Matt Sorum, and singer Franky Perez have formed a new supergroup called Deadland Ritual.

Deadland Ritual is scheduled to perform at the Hellfest festival in Clisson, France next summer. The festival will feature performances by Tool, Stone Temple Pilots, and Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators.

In a 2017 interview with Billboard, Butler discussed his post-Black Sabbath plans, saying: “I’m not in a hurry to do anything… I’m traveling a lot, seeing the places [the band] only stayed for one night and going back and spending some time there. We’ve recently moved house this year and I’m going to be building my home studio, but it’s taken me ages. Next year I’ll see if I can get back into music.”

You can watch a Deadland Ritual teaser video Matt Sorum posted on his Instagram. Sorum has a history of playing with supergroups, including Velvet Revolver, Kings of Chaos, Camp Freddy, and Hollywood Vampires. Sorum was not asked to be Guns N’ Roses’ full time drummer for their Not In This Lifetime reunion tour.
