Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash recently offered an update on the band’s long-awaited new album, sharing fresh details in a recent interview.
Speaking about the current state of the recording process, Slash confirmed that the band has been active in the studio. He added that new music is on the way, even if a release date has not yet been set.
“It’s gonna happen. I just don’t know when. It’s getting closer and closer — we were in the studio recently. It’s just a matter of when it happens,” Slash said.
Drawing a comparison to the band’s past, Slash pointed to the creation of the Use Your Illusion albums as a reference for how Guns N’ Roses tends to work.
“It was like that with the Use Your Illusion albums — nothing was going on, and then all of a sudden we just locked in and did it, and everything moves really quickly,” he continued. “That time is coming with Guns pretty soon, so it will happen. I’d be lying.”
No official release date has been announced, but Slash’s comments suggest the band is steadily moving toward completing new material.
