Billy Corgan offered new details on Smashing Pumpkins’ MACHINA reissue and on the band’s new album in an Instagram Live Q&A.

Notcolinarcher recapped on The Smashing Pumpkins Reddit, “I’m watching the posted video now. Some highlights: – rock invasion 2 tour (postponed due to COVID-19) was planned to be heavily deep cuts, lots of songs rehearsed with a different set list each night – 9 songs (of 33) done for next SP album (sequel to MCIS and Machina) – Machina reissue: still working on artwork, music done (50 songs + 30 extra tracks) – 2 people blocked.

Zeitgeist, The Future Embrace, Zwan/Mary Star of the Sea may be reissued by Sumerian Records in the future – in discussion with 4 artists to collaborate on writing music – fans need to support SP/BC solo by streaming new music and sharing on social media – wrestling stuff.”

Rolster7 responded, “Thx! I missed this. I’m glad there’s a chance of those 3 being reissued. I still have the original cd’s 😎 with zwan being the version with the dvd and the silver best buy zeitgeist. Standard futureembrace. Don’t think there was a special edition of it.”

Smashing Pumpkins’ new album is a sequel to Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness and MACHINA, and is expected to be released in 2022.
