Smashing Pumpkins Reunion Album Title & Release Date Revealed

Alternative Nation has learned that The Smashing Pumpkins will release their reunion album Shiny And Oh So Bright, Vol. 1 / LP: No Past. No Future. No Sun. on November 15, 2018. Below is the official tracklisting followed by cover art.

This will be the the first Smashing Pumpkins album to feature original members Billy Corgan, James Iha, and Jimmy Chamberlin playing together since the MACHINA records in 2000. Longtime guitarist Jeff Schroeder is also on the album. Rick Rubin is the producer of the album, which was recorded in Los Angeles earlier this year.

Lead single “Solara” was released in June, while second single “Slivery Sometimes (Ghosts)” was released today. The Pumpkins filmed a music video in Los Angeles this week for “Slivery Sometimes (Ghosts)” directed by Billy Corgan. Corgan said it will be a fun video, much like “1979” and “Rocket.”

The last Smashing Pumpkins album released was 2014’s Monuments to an Elegy, featuring Tommy Lee on drums. The followup album, Day For Night, was canceled.
