Soundgarden reuniting for Hall of Fame performance
Soundgarden have confirmed the lineup for their 2025 reunion performance at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony this weekend. Kim Thayil, Matt Cameron, Ben Shepherd, and Hiro Yamamoto will be joined by Taylor Momsen, Mike McCready, and Jerry Cantrell.
Momsen sang with Soundgarden at the 2019 Chris Cornell tribute show. Soundgarden will release a new album produced by Terry Date in 2026, featuring Chris Cornell’s last recorded vocals. The band have teased live shows, though they have not detailed if it would be a limited engagement.

In a new interview with the Seattle Times, Kim Thayil and Matt Cameron reflected on Soundgarden’s upcoming induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Speaking about their late bandmate Chris Cornell, Cameron says he believes the frontman would have been grateful to receive the honor.
“I think Chris would have really enjoyed this moment of recognition, because he was always moving as an artist,” he said. “He was always seeking that next phase of his writing career, performing career.
“Maybe down the line he will get recognized as a solo artist or [for] Temple of the Dog or something like that because his contribution to music has been absolutely massive.”
