Stone Temple Pilots bassist Robert DeLeo recently met Heart legend Ann Wilson.
He wrote on Instagram, “It was lovely to finally meet you @annwilson Thank you for raising me musically. Also many thanks for the bottle of Satori Vocal Rescue. It really helped! Very kind of you Ann.”
Heart’s Ann Wilson recently discussed rockers who have died young like Chris Cornell, Layne Staley, Chester Bennington, and Scott Weiland in a YouTube video. When discussing Cornell’s ‘tenderness’ and ‘going as far in the world as he could,’ she brought up other legendary names.
“Really I’ve known in my life quite a few singers that are that way. I think about that a lot, especially with Layne Staley, Chris Cornell, Chester Bennington, Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, all the different people who were singers.
The whole thing is about words, and thoughts. Maybe that type of being a vehicle for that type of powerful communication is too much for normalcy. Like when you get to go up on stage and sing that type of poetry and that type of meaning, and then come back down into normalcy, maybe you can’t re-enter. Just normalcy, the news, and the politics, and the petty shit.”
