Stone Temple Pilots bassist Robert DeLeo recently took to his Instagram account and revealed that he has tested positive for the virus.

Robert DeLeo tested positive

He posted a picture of the test showing the result. He said this will force him to be in quarantine. He then prayed good health for everyone and also noted how the new year is approaching soon.

Here is what his caption read:

“Well, like so many others this virus has come to pay me a visit. Yes, double lines… Jackpot! Except this time you don’t win anything but a nice chunk of time by yourself doing the “q” word. Omi-cron, Robotron, Lexicon, whatever they wanna call it, it’s the CRUD! A new year is upon us and I hope and pray everyone stays healthy and safe. Let’s all make this new year a positive and forward moving experience filled with everything we all love!”

Stone Temple Pilots have been striving for years since the passing of the vocal great, Scott Weiland. Recently, it looked like things could be getting worse financially for the band as 2021 is closing on a very bad note for all involved with the band. Previously, the band had called off shows after a band crew member had tested positive.

“During routine testing of our band and crew, we have discovered that a member of our organization has tested positive for the virus.  Out of an abundance of caution, we must regretfully cancel our remaining shows on this current tour; our appearances in Daytona, FL at the Welcome to Rockville Festival and Tulsa, OK at the Skyline Event Center. Refunds for the Tulsa show can be made at your point of purchase.
Thank you to everyone that came out to see us this fall, it was wonderful to see all of your beautiful faces in person again. We hope to be able to do this again with you all very soon.”
