Stone Temple Pilots singer Jeff Gutt discussed recently opening for Nine Inch Nails at River City Rockfest in San Antonio in a new Power 104 interview. Alternative Nation transcribed his comments.

“Yeah, we went on just before Nine Inch Nails. That was pretty cool, it was for me.”

He was also asked if he felt pressure recording the new self-titled Stone Temple Pilots album, release back in March 2018 and featuring the singles “Meadow” and “Roll Me Under.”

“No, not really. I’ve worked with big producers and all of that before, so none of that was real intimidating. It was done at band member’s houses, so there was a very laid back vibe to the whole thing, so there wasn’t really any pressure. No one really knew who I was at the time when we were doing most of the recording, so I was just laying low, hanging out in LA, and recording songs with Stone Temple Pilots, and nobody knew it, so it was a cool time.”

He was also asked about his favorite old school Stone Temple Pilots song to record live.

“Definitely ‘Dead and Bloated.’ I mean, that intro, people lose their minds when that song kicks in. You can’t help but feel that with them.”
