The following is from Hard Rock Hub.

Tony J West, Lead Vocalist for Hollywood’s Blacklist Union has recently recorded six songs for Stone Temple Pilots in an attempt to secure the lead vocalist position left vacant by Chester Bennington (Linkin Park) and the late Scott Weiland. I spoke with Tony this morning about the songs, why he’s making them available as free downloads and his thoughts about the late Scott Weiland and Stone Temple Pilots.

First of all Tony…..needs your support and help! As you can imagine, there are a lot of people looking to grab a high profile job, like being the vocalist for Stone Temple Pilots. But, Tony has received encouraging news from STP’s management company, asking him to record more tracks. Here’s a snippet of the letter that Tony received from them:

‘Hi Tony,

Nice to meet you – I work with STP’s management. The guys liked what they heard, and wanted to hear/see some more.

Could you please send over some recent pics / videos / and maybe record another song or two w/ the instrumentals provided below? If you’ve already submitted these songs, please record another one or two.

Thanks! Let me know if you have any questions.’

So, Tony has decided to make these demos available to the public for several different reasons. One of course, is that he would love your support for helping him get the gig as he is fighting to get the job alongside many others. But, he also really wants to know what people think about it. When I spoke with him, he stated that he was a big fan of Scott Weiland’s work and realizes that no one could ever replace him. But, Tony has tried to be faithful to the original creations and the band’s incredible legacy while adding his own unique vocal style.
