Taylor Hawkins Tragedy Led To Perry Farrell Feud?

PERRY FARRELL was allegedly “uncontrollable” and losing friends before fighting with DAVE NAVARRO at JANE’S ADDICTION show.

A source reportedly told The Daily Mail that Farrell was slowly being “shut out” by friends even before he lashed out on stage last week. While Farrell has never been shy about his past drug issues and is known for drinking bottles of wine on stage, those close to him have apparently become increasingly concerned about his “uncontrollable” behavior and have grown fearful that he may relapse, even going as far as to beg him to “get help.” Dan Cleary, Jane’s Addiction’s guitar tech, also said the band may have broken up ‘for good’ on social media.

“Perry is uncontrollable right now and he has been spiraling down for some time,” a source told the Mail. “Friends are concerned and people are starting to shut him out.”

The source went on to explain that there has always been tension between Farrell and Navarro, saying: “His beef with Dave has been ongoing since Dave joined the band in 1985. He has left and come back many times and Perry has always had issues with this.” Navarro recently took a two and a half year break from Jane’s due to long COVID.

But, according to the anonymous source, that tension got worse after the Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins passed away in 2022. Instead of his death bringing the two together, it apparently drove them apart.

“They were both very close to Taylor Hawkins and took his death real hard, but this has also driven another wedge in between them,” the source said. “There will be no more shows until Perry gets help.”
A second source told The Daily Mail that Farrell knows he went “too far” during last week’s show.
“Perry is heartbroken at his actions,” they said. “He realizes that he waited too long to prioritize his well-being. His exhaustion and the toll it has taken on both his physical and mental health has gone too far. He had the best of intentions heading out on tour with the band and feels like he’s let his fans and family down.” Dave Navarro recorded an album with Hawkins and Chris Chaney in 2021.
