Chris Cornell’s widow Vicky recently wrote on Instagram about helping vulnerable children. She wrote, “My husband was committed to helping the most vulnerable children @chriscornellofficial believed that each of us, whether locally or globally, have a moral responsbility to help those less fortunate + speak for those who do not have a voice. Vicky recently heard Gold medal Olympian McKayla Maroney speak about being sexually abused by Larry Nasar.

“Deeply moved by @mckaylamaroney who shared her story for the first time today @nyspcc luncheon. What we do makes a difference, especially what we do when we’ve been touched by tragic events. Only by sharing can we learn and prevent. Your strength is truly inspiring, thank you.”

A fan named John recently wrote to Vicky on Twitter, “On April 29, ’94, I was involved in a fatal car crash that took the lives of 3 of my friends and left me with life-threatening burns to 75% of my body. Vicky responded, “I’m so sorry for the tragedy – the pain and loss you have endured. You are an inspiration. Please continue sharing your story to help others . And thank you for also sharing with me what a profound impact my husband’s music had on you. #LoudLove to you.”
