The Pretty Reckless frontwoman Taylor Momsen was recently taken to get medical treatment in Mexico after she revealed that she was bitten by a large spider while touring as support for AC/DC’s ongoing run of dates. Momsen said the bite affected her system, but she was able to go onstage for the band’s scheduled show after receiving care from local doctors.

In an Instagram update, Momsen wrote that “a massive spider decided to take a chunk out of me,” adding that “its venom did a number on my system” and that doctors in Mexico gave her “quite the shot” before the previous night’s performance.

Momsen also joked about the latest tour mishap, writing, “Add it to the list! Spider woman? Batgirl?” The post included an image of the bite, which appeared swollen, and she indicated the treatment was administered in time for her to take the stage as planned.

“So it wouldn’t be an AC/DC tour if I didn’t get bit…this time a massive spider decided to take a chunk out of me and its venom did a number on my system so had to have the wonderful doctors in Mexico come and deliver quite the shot before the show last night,” Momsen said. “Add it to the list! Spider woman? Batgirl?”

The update comes as The Pretty Reckless continues its role as opening act on AC/DC’s “Power Up” World Tour dates in Latin America. The incident also echoes a prior onstage moment last year, when Momsen was bitten by a bat during a live performance on the same tour cycle.

Momsen and The Pretty Reckless are scheduled to complete additional Mexico dates before moving on to the next leg of shows, with the singer signalling she intends to keep performing despite the latest medical scare.
