Ted Nugent Blasts Ticketmaster Hearing, Warns Against Proposed Price Controls
Ted Nugent weighed in on the latest Washington, DC scrutiny of Live Nation and Ticketmaster, issuing a sharply worded warning as lawmakers hold hearings focused on the ticketing giant’s power and its effect on artists and fans.
In a post timed to the congressional proceedings, Nugent argued that Live Nation/Ticketmaster is pushing for “price controls” because it can absorb the impact in ways smaller competitors cannot, Ted Nugent wrote.
Nugent claimed the company has other revenue streams that would allow it to survive a cap, while rivals in the ticketing space “CANNOT survive this,” framing the debate as one that could consolidate the market even further. He also warned that “FULL CONTROL” for Ticketmaster would be “BAD for artists & fans,” urging members of Congress to oppose the approach.
CONGRESS WAKE UP Live Nation/TovketMaster is lobbying for bullshit SOCIALIST pricecontrols becauseTHEY can survive a cap. Its because other revenue streams cover the losses.
TicketMaster’s competitors CANNOT survive this.
FULL CONTROL for TicketMaster = BAD for artists & fans!…— Ted Nugent (@TedNugent) February 3, 2026
The rocker also directly tagged Republican senators including Sen. Ted Cruz and Sen. Marsha Blackburn, echoing his past habit of inserting himself into high-profile political and industry debates. Nugent has previously aimed criticism at Live Nation’s influence, including in a prior exchange involving Cruz that drew attention from his fanbase.
While lawmakers continue to probe ticketing practices, Nugent’s comments underline how polarising the solutions have become: some push for stronger consumer protections and pricing limits, while others argue reforms could unintentionally entrench the largest players. For now, his message adds another loud celebrity voice to an already heated fight over who controls access to live music.
