The rock icon’s remarks addressed both his reaction to the show’s use of his music and his thoughts on how it was presented to audiences.

“The worst part about this scene is the volume of the song [Wango Tango]. Should be way louder,” Nugent said. “Great to see the music getting to the younger generation though! Anyone here watch Stranger Things?”

The musician’s song “Wango Tango” was part of the season 2 of the hit science fiction series. It introduced his music to a new generation of viewers through the show’s nostalgic 1980s setting.

Nugent’s track appeared specifically in a memorable scene that showcased the show’s commitment to authentic period music. “Wango Tango” plays in season 2, episode 2 titled “Chapter Two: Trick or Treat, Freak,” during a scene where Billy complains about having to move to Hawkins as he drives Max home.

The same episode also highlighted other rock tracks like Mötley Crüe’s “Shout at the Devil” and Duran Duran’s “Girls on Film.” This underscored the show’s 1980s metal and rock vibe.
