Vince Gill, a member of the Eagles, shared his thoughts about performing at the Sphere venue in Las Vegas on the Shred With Shifty podcast.

He talked about how the venue’s amazing visual effects can be distracting during his shows. “I try not to watch the screens because it makes me a little dizzy. Things move and tilt—it’s really cool, but it’s hard to focus,” Gill said.

He joked that the audience pays more attention to the lights and effects than to him. “It’s the most people I’ve ever been ignored by at a show, but that’s what they came for—the big show and the visuals,” he added.

Gill explained that sometimes if he watches the visuals, he forgets to sing or loses focus during the performance.

The Eagles still have a regular show at the Sphere, which is famous for its high-tech visuals.

Vince joined the Eagles in 2017 after Glenn Frey, a founding member, passed away in 2016. At first, he played only at some special events. He was chosen by Don Henley, who had worked with him before and was a good friend.

Over time, Vince became a full-time member of the band and now plays regularly on their tours. He says it feels amazing to be part of the Eagles and that he’s proud to help keep their music alive.
