Last week, TMZ broke the news that Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee and his wife of six years Brittany Furlan have separated. At the time, the publication reported the split was a result of Lee’s excessive drinking and unwillingness to get sober.
Now, it seems Lee and Furlan’s marital problems are a bit more complicated and involves an alleged catfishing attempt by an impersonator of musician Ronnie Radke.
This past Friday, Lee shared a mysterious post on his Instagram that simply read, “Who’s been catfished?”
Shortly after, Radke uploaded a series of posts to his Instagram story addressing the situation, writing, in part: “You been in a fake relationship with a catfish posing as me and that’s why you and Tommy Lee are getting divorced Brittany Furlan?”
Radke went on to explain that Furlan “got caught messaging” a person claiming to be him on Snapchat. He maintains that the user Furlan was messaging was not in fact him, and that she was catfished.
After Furlan allegedly confessed to Lee about the situation, Radke claims Lee confronted and threatened him.
“Don’t f**k with me dude!” Lee reportedly messaged Radke. “What the f**k are you talking about on Snapchat? You guys are supposed to have some f***ing f**g*ts *ss dinner date last night.”
“Bro I don’t have Snapchat,” Radke responded. “I like you bro I wouldn’t mess with your wife.”
Now, in a lengthy TikTok video, Furlan – who says she is currently living in a hotel – shared her side of the story.
“I’ve been going through a really tough time in my marriage, which was none of anyone’s f***ing business, but he’s made it everyone’s business,” she said before explaining that someone she believed to be Radke on Snapchat “started trying to seduce me.”
She went on to share a screenshot of “the only message she saved” from the alleged catfisher, as well as DMs between herself and the real Radke before asking him to leave her alone.
“It’s a catfish, cool. I got catfished. Why are you still harassing me?” Furlan said. “Why are you sending me hundreds of messages? Why are you trolling me? I don’t give a f**k. I unfollowed you. Leave me alone. That’s it.”
She continued: “Basically, I told my husband everything. I said, you know, ‘I’ve been talking to whoever I thought this was on Snapchat — he says it’s not him, cool, whatever — ‘cause I’m a good person. I mean, I’m not a good person for talking to someone while married. I’ve been going through a lot in my marriage. No excuse, whatever.
“I come clean to my husband, my husband freaks out, messages him, that’s how this all started.”
Furlan concluded by asking Radke to stop publicly discussing her marriage.
“You’ve blown up my whole life on social media,” she said of Radke. “This is embarrassing for me, embarrassing for my husband. This whole f***ing thing is embarrassing. I’ve been going through struggling with sh*t at home. I’m in a f***ing hotel. Like, leave us f***ing alone, bro. Like, if you want people to be obsessed with you, like, I don’t know, get another f***ing hobby, dude. This is just some serious narcissist sh*t. I’m done. Anyone can think of it what they will. All good.”
“I’ve had enough,” she added in the caption. “He’s been harassing me for two weeks. He’s been sent three cease and desists and has not listened. For the final time- Leave me alone Ronnie.”
Radke has since explained that “the only reason” he went public was because Lee “will not stop yelling at me and stuff.”
“Imagine you grow up looking up to somebody like Tommy Lee,” Radke said, “and then all of a sudden out of nowhere he goes, ‘You’re f***ing my wife.’ And I’m like, ‘What. I have no idea what you’re talking about.’”
