Last month, news broke that Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee and his wife Brittany Furlan had separated following the revelation that Furlan had been flirtatiously messaging someone on Snapchat who was pretending to be Falling in Reverse singer Ronnie Radke.

After being dragged into the drama and allegedly threatened by Lee, Radke took to social media to publicly reveal the catfishing scandal.

In a since deleted seven-minute TikTok video, Furlan addressed the incident and admitted she was speaking to someone on Snapchat who she thought was Radke, but wasn’t.

Now, in a new episode of her podcast “This is the Worst,” Furlan explained how she was duped by the impersonator, and why she was having these conversations outside of her marriage.

“I reached a place of loneliness in my marriage where I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. I got to a point where I was just so incredibly lonely and we were very disconnected for a very long time,” she said.

“And when this person reached out to me on Snapchat, I took the bait. I think coming from a place of desperate loneliness, you kind of grasp onto any affection that anyone gives you or attention or whatever.”

She continued, saying she was fooled by the catfisher because of how much they seemed to know about her personal life. “They knew the ins and outs of my relationship, which is really weird… They were like, ‘I know you’ve been with your husband for a while, I know he drinks a lot.’ They’ve talked to me about this stuff.”

Furlan then revealed that her and Lee have decided to give their marriage another shot: “All of this happening has weirdly brought us closer together, which is really strange. I think we were finally faced with the reality of, what would life really be like without each other?”
