Tool and A Perfect Circle frontman Maynard James Keenan is currently closing out A Perfect Circle’s Eat the Elephant tour in Europe. A Perfect Circle performed at Wiener Stadthalle in Vienna, Austria on Sunday night, and Maynard announced that he is ill and it is making his voice sound rough.

watercolorstain90 posted, “Great show tonight. Maynard says his voice is ‘rough’ because he got the flu, but he sounded as lush as ever.”

46andT00L posted, “It was indeed a great performance. But did anyone else have the issue that ‘front of stage’ the sound was dominated by a massive bass sound covering the other instruments? I had to move around to find a sweet spot where I was finally able to hear the guitars and the piano. They were opening with Eat the Elephant and Disillusioned and it was really difficult to recognize the songs. This is not related to the band though, they were doing a great job, but the “Stadthalle” in Vienna is known for its difficult acoustic characteristics.

Maynard’s voice was great though. Loud and clear, and his performance was on spot. I was very happy to hear that.”
