Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan has announced on FOX 10 that he will be opening a wine tasting room in Scottsdale, Arizona on March 14th. Keenan’s Tool bandmates are currently mastering the band’s new album in Portland, Maine, but he doesn’t appear to be present in any photos the band have released.

Stephanie Olmo from FOX 10 tweeted, “I had the pleasure to chat with @mjkeenan about his first wine tasting room in the Valley. He’s been making wine for over a decade and is bringing a taste of his Northern AZ wineries to Scottsdale. The grand opening of Merkin Vineyards Old Town Scottsdale will be March 14th.”

Keenan tweeted, “Fingers crossed, March 14th Grand Opening. http://www.merkinvineyards.org and @merkinvineyards for updates. #arizonawine #awga @azvignerons #oldtownscottsdaleaz.”

You can watch the interview with Maynard James Keenan on FOX 10 below. Keenan finished his A Perfect Circle tour for Eat the Elephant in December, and he will tour with Tool this summer in Europe. Keenan recently announced that Tool plan on releasing their new album between mid-May and mid-July, the followup to 2006’s 10,000 Days. Tool will also play North American festivals in the spring, in what will likely be the first shows of the tour for their fifth studio album.
