Over the weekend, Tool kicked off their New Zealand and Australia tour with a pair of shows at Spark Arena in Auckland on Saturday (Nov. 22nd) and Sunday (Nov. 23rd). At both concerts, Maynard James Keenan and co. dusted off a handful of rarities they haven’t performed in over two decades.
During Saturday’s show, Tool played “Disposition” off of 2001 their album “Lateralus,” “H” from 1996’s “Ænima,” and “Crawl Away” off of their 1993 record “Undertow.”
Until now, Tool hadn’t performed “Disposition,” “H,” and “Crawl Away” live since 2002 and 1998, respectively.
“Some of these songs we haven’t played since you were sperm,” Keenan joked. Drummer Danny Cary wore a hilarious bodysuit at the show.

For Sunday’s show, the band broke out a few more deep cuts, playing “Undertow’s” “Prison Sex” for the first time since 2002, and “Intension” from their 2006 album “10,000 Days” for the first time since 2014.
Tool also performed their song “Mockingbeat” from their most recent album “Fear Inoculum” (2019) for the first time ever.
Both setlists also included a cover of Black Sabbath’s “Hand of Doom,” which they recently played at Ozzy Osbourne and Sabbath’s farewell concert “Back to the Beginning” this past July.
