Fans on Tool’s Reddit have pointed out that Maynard James Keenan recently deleted two tweets that gave the biggest update on Tool’s new album yet. He originally sent out the tweets a couple of weeks ago:

“Started getting music files from the boys w the word FINAL in the title a few months ago after 11 years of begging. That in theory means the tracks wont change out from under me while I’m trying to write stories and melodies to them. In theory. Still waiting for the FINAL on 1 but way ahead. Words & Melodies 100% DONE on all but 1.

Someday we’ll track them. Long way from the finish line, but at least we’re closer. Meanwhile new @aperfectcircle release on 4/20. #whileyouwerewhiningiwasworking #theresyourupdate #eattheelephant #aperfectcircle2018”

A fan on Tool’s Reddit named 61jh posted, “I doubt it means much, but I noticed Maynard deleted his tweet with the ‘big tool update ‘. Doubt it’s relevant, but kinda intriguing.”

RProv posted, “I bet he posted that big update after having a few (many) glasses of wine, and then ended up regretting it. That’s the only scenario in which I can imagine Maynard being so forthright with specific details about the album progress.”

hokimon posted, “Didn’t delete the facebook post though.

I think he needs to ignore the fans. He’s better than this. Just make music, do shows, sell wine. Be merry.”
