Robert and Dean DeLeo reunited with former Stone Temple Pilots singer Chester Bennington at Kings of Chaos’ show in Long Beach over the weekend. Bennington sang STP’s “Sex Type Thing” and Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love,” among other songs. Matt Sorum (Guns N’ Roses/Velvet Revolver), Billy Duffy (The Cult), Billy Idol, and Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top) also performed.
Late STP frontman Scott Weiland revealed in November 2015 that Bennington had quit the band, which led to an official announcement a few days later. Weiland passed away in December 2015, and Bennington last reunited with STP for a one off show in Palos Verdes, CA on March 26, 2016. Stone Temple Pilots have been searching for a third singer for over a year.
