Watch Josh Homme’s New Emotional Apology To Woman He Kicked In Face

Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme has released the following video apology after people heavily criticized his initial statement. Homme was filmed kicking female photographer Chelsea Lauren on Saturday in Los Angeles.

He said during the new apology:

“I’d just like to apologize to Chelsea Lauren. I don’t have any excuse or reason to justify what I did. I was a total dick, and I’m truly sorry, and I hope you’re okay. I’ve made a lot of mistakes in my life, and last night was definitely one of them.”

“I want to be a good man, but I think last night I definitely failed at that. That means I failed my family and my friends as well. I don’t want them to ever be ashamed to be around me or knowing me, so I apologize also to my bandmates, and my Mom and my Dad, and my wife, and my brother, and my kids.

Yeah, I’m going to have to figure out some stuff I think, because rock and roll is a wonderful thing. It’s supposed to save and help people, not mess them up, so Chelsea Lauren I hope you’re okay. I understand you have to do whatever you have to do, I just want you to know that I’m sorry. Goodnight, god speed.”

Below is the apology, uploaded in two parts.

Homme originally said:

“Last night, while in a state of being lost in performance, I kicked over various lighting and equipment on our stage. Today it was brought to my attention that this included a camera held by photographer Chelsea Lauren. I did not mean for that to happen and I am very sorry. I would never intentionally cause harm to anyone working at or attending one of our shows and I hope Chelsea will accept my sincere apology.”

Clearly he did it on purpose. There is no excuse for behaviour like this. You don’t go around kicking people in the head even if you are the lead singer for a shit rock band.

    Here is video of it:

    • Olga Stewart

      I think he needs help.

      And fast.

    • Olga Stewart

He looked at her while he did it.

So he definitely wanted her to be aware of it.

      What a bastard.

      • Corndog

Absolutely. It was definitely intentional. He didn’t even seem to give a shit if he had done the poor girl any damage or not as he just walks off like nothing happened. He deserves to get the book thrown at him for this. I really hope she files criminal charges.

Felony assault to kick someone in the head……she will become a millionaire shortly. Congratulations on your good fortune….KACHING.😆

Yes, but as the article states, this didn’t happen. He kicked her camera.

  • Gary Reilly

Then he went and cut his own head open? Clearly on something, and I don’t mean cola.

  • Dave Id

So there, he posted a “sincere” apology, now may she won’t sue his fucking ass.

    • Olga Stewart

He probably made the apology because there is evidence out online of his doing this.

He kicked her camera. He’s known for having a temper while performing. There must have been a light on the camera or something. Something bugged him, and he came out there to kick it away. It’s a shame. He’s a great musician. I love Queens. Let’s get over it. It’s between them, and he has plenty of money to pay for a one night hospital stay.

    • Olga Stewart

And what happens when another photographer bothers him?

Will he do the same thing?

      • 40sRunner Girl

Will be interesting. There are a lot of vids of him calling out bullies and inviting them to fight online. I guess he goes nuts when audience members throw things at him. That’s why I think his first answer was the truth. He saw a light and came out to kick it. He kicked the camera that was in her face. In fact, the first articles that came out 2 days ago, and her account of the event, we’re more accurate than this recycled article. He kicked her camera, not her. He will pay out nominally for the injury and hospital stay. As for his future actions, Olga, with all due respect, it’s fairly obvious from the 2nd and 3rd videos that he knows it’s a new day, and he needs to change his behavior. QOTSD is a great band. I didn’t get them years ago, but in the wake of Chris Cornell passing and reviewing Soundgarden music from the 90s, I came to understand their genius. They are to me what the Foo Fighters are to others. Endless talent and creativity.

        • Olga Stewart

I really do hope that Josh can pull himself together.

I think he will start to feel much better both about himself and his life when he does.

          • 40sRunner Girl

For sure. Behind the eight ball is never a good place to be!

          • Olga Stewart

Not unless you are a pool cue. :).

Lets get over it? Why? because he’s famous? Lets not get over it. What kind of a man kicks at a woman’s equipment (so close to her head), injuring her in the process, when she’s just doing her job? Inexcusable. I don’t care if you love them. I doubt you’d accept it if a stranger did this, so why would you accept it now and try to make excuses for it?

      • 40sRunner Girl

It doesn’t bother me at all. There are more important things in the world. Cheers.
