Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis wore a fan’s underwear on his head at a show a few days ago. See a photo and video, followed by a more serious story about Anthony Kiedis’ family below.

RHCPTV5 posted the following on Reddit a couple of days ago:

As you’ll have all heard now, Blackie, Anthony’s dad, doesn’t have much longer to live. He’s been suffering from a form of dementia for a while now, and as per Anthony’s words last night, seems to be entering the final stretch of his life.

Blackie is a wonderful guy, and you’ll know as much if you’d ever had the honour of meeting him and talking to him. He adores Anthony and he is his biggest fan. He was also the ‘Head Honcho’ of the old RHCP fan club. He had so much time for us fans and dedicated a huge portion of his life to us. I think it’d be great if, during this time, as many of us could send him some love. He’s been receiving mail for a while now from all over the world, stories, pictures, well wishes etc. Anthony’s mother says that he can’t read anymore, but he would still love to receive postcards/pictures, and he enjoys looking at them and sorting them. He’s particularly fond of animal pics, he is a dog lover. I think as a last act towards him as a fanbase it would be great to send him as much love as we can. Any mail can be sent to this address. Thanks.
