This years Camden Rocks in London, England will take place Saturday, June 4th and there will be 200 bands taking center stage on over 20 different venues as Camden, the spiritual home of music for Londoners, will be turned on its head for the party of the year.
The day starts early at 12 sharp and will run for over 10 hours and all genres of music will be represented. If that’s not enough there will be after show parties held at The Underworld and Proud that will run until four in the morning, a near 24 hour celebration of music. Let’s look at some of the bands that will be playing at Camden Rocks 2016:
The Cribs who were once described by Q magazine as “the biggest cult band in the UK” will headline The Electric Ballroom. The English outfit has been making noise for 14 years and have played to thousands of fans. Last year they played at both Coachella and Glastonbury Festivals and will be, one expects, welcomed with open arms.
Glen Matlock will always be associated with The Sex Pistols even though he was only in the band for two years. But no one can take away from the fact that he was their original bassist and wrote most of the material on their debut album ‘Never Mind the Bollocks’. Matlock’s previous shows have featured his own material plus covers of such artists as The Faces, Iggy Pop and of course The Pistols, catch him just after 9pm for what is sure to be a memorable show in such an intimate venue.
Metal heads will need an early wake up call as Evil Scarecrow take the stage at Electric Ballroom at 13:30 PM. If you’ve never seen them before, all we can say is get prepared for mayhem because YOU will be a part of their show. Watch out for “Crabulon”, “Robototron” and “Rise”, this is a band you do not want to miss.
The Barfly venue will be buzzing in double delight given that bands will be playing all day in the iconic venue, upstairs and downstairs non stop.
