I filmed Axl Rose wishing Slash happy birthday last night at Guns N’ Roses’ show at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. While Axl wished Slash happy birthday, nobody sang ‘happy birthday’ like Bumblefoot, Frank Ferrer, and Tommy Stinson got at previous GNR shows.

Guns N’ Roses have released the first official professional shot group photo of their 2016 lineup in a new tour book they are selling at concerts. In the photo, keyboardist Melissa Reese has a hilarious smile next to Slash and a serious looking Axl Rose. Check out the awesome photo below of the summer’s hottest touring rock band!

Guns N’ Roses last official photo was released in 2014, one of the few post early 90’s official group photos of Guns N’ Roses.

Guns N’ Roses performed “Catcher in the Rye” for the first time on the ‘Not In This Lifetime’ tour at their second show at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough on Wednesday night. The band had rehearsed the Chinese Democracy track the previous day, but it was not one of the alternates on the setlist.

Wish they would throw in If The World, Street of Dreams or Madagascar if they’re doing CD stuff. This I Love, CITR and the title track are some of the weakest songs on that album

They probably couldn’t sing happy birthday to Slash because Perla Hudson would have gotten a significant royalty check off that, too..

I always meant to give some time and attention to ChiDem, but never got around to it. I know that what I have heard sounded way overproduced. I have been told that it has a good dynamic range though, so there’s that.

      • Felonious Punk

It’s basically Use Your Illusion 3.

Incredible to think that for all the years Axl fucked around with those songs, it ended up sounding like an album the UYI lineup could have released in 1996. It IS a bit overproduced in parts, but it was way better than most people give it credit for. If Slash and Duff had been playing on it, nobody would have complained when they heard it.

That’s why it’s so smh-inducing to hear people bitching about Slash’s solos on the live ChiDem songs. Some people will just never be happy with anything. Kind of like me and Tool, lol..

        • Rob Doen

My thoughts exactly!!! “If The World” is another one of my favorites on ChiDem.

    • Carl Dunmore

hey, no way, CITR is great, I found it really moving. especially the extro. When i first got ChiDem I was cynical, but when I gave it the time I actually wept for Axl, that such a great talent spent so many years in the creative wilderness. Its not much to show for 2 whole decades, but it is a very strong album

      • Felonious Punk

It’s not a terrible song; just one of my least favourites on CD.

I honestly don’t think there’s one song on CD I *don’t* like. While it’s my least favourite of their four albums of original material, but it’s still a worthwhile addition to the Guns discography, considering it was essentially an Axl w/ collaborators project..

    • Rizz

      Madagascar is a great song!

    I wish they did Yesterday’s

They did yesterday’s in Mexico back in april, id prefer that on the setlist instead of the seeker.

Axl and co also sang 4then stage manager tom mayhue’s b/d in 2006 lol but i wasn’t there 4that one. That setlist up there, is that new jersey setlist no? That foxborough yea? Sorry, I’m slower than the snail who took 3years to walk back to that guys door to ask him why he picked him up & threw him.
