In a new interview on Beats 1 with Zane Lowe, Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan yet again praised Alice In Chains’ new album Rainier Fog.

Zane mentioned listening to an advanced copy of the new Smashing Pumpkins album Shiny and Oh So Bright Vol. 1: No Past. No Future. No Sun.. He said it can be nerve wracking to hear new music from artists you like, especially if you don’t end up liking it.

Corgan responded, “I think when you’re young, everything is flying so fast you don’t realize how when you’re doing magical things, how actually magical they are. Then when you don’t have the magic, you become kind of aware, and people ask: ‘What happened to the magic?’

It depends on who is in the room obviously. Even I was just listening to the new Alice In Chains record, and I had that feeling. I love them so much, and I love Jerry’s songwriting, and it’s like you are almost afraid to put the needle down, because you want it to be as good as you can it can be.”

Billy Corgan attended a recent Alice In Chains show at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, the night before The Smashing Pumpkins kicked off a two night stay at the Forum in Inglewood.
