Billy Corgan appeared at the Beale Street Music Festival this Saturday.

The three-day festival had kicked off on Friday at the Fairgrounds in Liberty Park. On Saturday, a number of artists like Megan Thee Stallion, Smashing Pumpkins, NLE Choppa, and Soccer Mommy performed.

The show was delayed a bit due to storms in the area.

The Commercial Appeal were present at the concert and noted that Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan appeared with face paint and an ankle-length dress.

Corgan was reported to be in a good mood and was chatty with the audience. He complimented the crowd for sticking around despite the rain. He complained of being shocked by the equipment. “Let’s hear it for the rain and thunder – I’m kidding,” he said jokingly.

“I don’t know if it is the condition of the rain or circumstance, but I am getting shocked up here every five seconds so if I collapse in the heat – it’s not funny cus, you know, I am dying, Corgan joked. “That doesn’t sound good. It’s not good. It’s not a joke.”

The band performed “Today”, “Cherub Rock”, and a cover of Talking Heads’ “Once in a Lifetime” at the festival.

A video of him telling the audience that he’s getting shocked by the equipment is doing the rounds on social media. You can watch the video below:
