As we reported earlier this week, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame recently tweeted about Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament wearing a shirt during Pearl Jam’s April 2017 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction acceptance speech that listed many deserving bands that were not yet inducted, including 90’s icons Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, Smashing Pumpkins, Faith No More, and Nine Inch Nails.

“In 2017, @pearljam bassist Jeff Ament made his list of hopeful future nominees clear from the induction ceremony stage……The custom-made shirt outlined influential artists not yet inducted into the #RockHall…But that could change soon….#RockHall2019 is coming. Who do you want to see get inducted?”

Many fans responded on Twitter demanding that Chris Cornell and Soundgarden be inducted into the 2019 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame class. Soundgarden have surprisingly never even been nominated, despite Chris Cornell participating in Heart’s 2013 induction, and Matt Cameron being an inductee with Pearl Jam.

We encourage all Alternative Nation readers to let the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame know on Twitter and their other social media platforms how much you would like to see Soundgarden inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. After the painful year and a half since Chris Cornell’s death, it would be great to have a night celebrating his music on such a huge platform.
