Filter took to Facebook last night to pen an open letter. First, to praise U2, for allowing Eagles of Death Metal to share the stage with them during a recent show in Paris as well as encouraging all Filter fans to contact each United States governor that oppose letting in Syrian Refugees and urge them to “reconsider” their position.

You can view the full letter below:
Bono and Jessie,

I’m so proud of you and the guys. Bono and U2 are such a healthy healing band for good.
They are activists who use their strength and power to make huge symbolic statements that let us all rejoice in love and forgiveness.. I just watched the HBO special and I am so proud of how Bono and Jessie handled this horrible act and strike against western civilization in Paris with the power of music. Giving the stage to the Eagles Of Death Metal was a huge nod to how we should all behave in a time of crisis. Great job.

On a final note, all FILTER fans and people who care about humanity should call each governor in their states that wrote letters to President Obama trying to push the refugees back to Syria and ask them to reconsider their fear-based reaction.
